Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a Deluxe Resort that is inspired by the Great American Northwest National Park lodges from the turn of the 20th century. It honors American craftsmanship and artistry, and celebrates the majesty of the unspoiled wilderness. The impressive 7-story lobby is built from 85 loads of Lodgepole pine, and has an 82-foot tall fireplace. There are 727 Guest rooms that offer themes of wildlife, nature and Native American designs. The Wilderness Lodge is on the shores of Bay Lake and offers a relaxing boat ride across the lake to the Magic Kingdom.
On the Resort grounds, there are bubbling springs that flow into a creek and a sparkling waterfall that empties into the feature swimming pool. Catch the eruption of Fire Rock Geyser, fashioned after Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful, with its plume of water jetting 120 feet into the air. The white-sand beach has a playground and marina to rent watercraft and bike rentals. Fishing and a high-tech game room are also available.
Treat yourself to a whole lot of fun and all-you-can-eat at Whispering Canyon Café, a family-style barbecue restaurant located in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge. Dine with characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the rustically elegant Artist Point restaurant. For Guests who want to keep up their fitness routine, the latest in exercise equipment is available at the Sturdy Branches Health Club.
The typical standard rooms at the Wilderness Lodge have two queen beds and sleep up to four guests. There are also rooms available with just one king bed. You can choose different views among the type of bedding requested. Guests choosing Club Level accommodations at the Old Faithful Club receive personalized concierge service, lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, afternoon tea and evening wine, hors d’oeuvres, cordials and desserts. The Deluxe Club level rooms offer sleeping for 6 and have a lot more space.
