Hello! My name is Katie Petry Rich. I’ve been a travel advisor for three years now and specialize in Disney and Universal destinations. I’m a part time dentist, but I fell in love with Disney years ago and decided to do this too! I was always getting asked for advice on Disney trips, so I figured why not? I have 2 active boys ages 15 and 12, and I’ve been married to my husband for 17 years. We have 3 dogs and 2 Siamese cats that remind us of the ‘Lady and the Tramp’ cats daily! I love my Purdue Boilermakers, to travel, run, ski, and most of all-just be with my family.
I go to Disney at least a couple times a year, and one of our goals as a family is to try something new every time we go, whether it be a new ride, a new place to eat, or anything else we may come across. We have been going as a family to WDW since 2014. I have to admit, I was very skeptical of going when my kids were just 4 and 1, but my husband insisted. Turns out, it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! Ever since then, we’ve been addicted. Disney thinks of the whole family and their convenience. We’ve stayed at several resorts, so I can be of great help deciding what is best for you and your family! I’ve also done several RunDisney races, and now my older son has started participating in them with me. Yet, he’s always somehow in a better corral than me and finishes way faster-which I love! I also love how Disney offers so much for the entire family! We’ve done trips where we try to “do it all” and trips where we try to just relax. (Yes! It’s possible to relax at Disney!) We’ve made so many memories with not just the four of us, but with our friends and extended family too.
In 2023, we tried something different and went to Disney’s Aulani resort on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. We enjoyed the Disney convenience and quality most of all-it’s so hard to beat! The pools and lazy river were hits for my kids. We also did several excursions all around the island.
In 2025, we took our first Disney cruise to Alaska. Our only regret is that we didn’t do a Disney cruise when the kids were younger! My kids were 14 and 11 at the time and took off to the kids’ clubs as soon as they were done with breakfast, then we would finally see them again at dinner on ‘at sea’ days. They keep asking to go back on another as they made lots of new friends. We also watched whales off our verandah and did several fun excursions. So if you’re thinking your kids may be too old for a Disney cruise, think again!
My family is also a huge fan of going to Universal Orlando. The thrilling rides and convenience of the Hard Rock hotel are big reasons why we love it so much. From the VelociCoaster to all the Harry Potter attractions, our family has very full days enjoying ourselves at Universal Parks.
Whether you’re looking for a fun filled, adventurous trip or just looking to take it easy and relax, I can help you decide what’s best for you and your family. I enjoy what I do in helping plan. Remember, one of my favorite things is seeing your pictures of your adventures when you get back! Let me help you make some memories that last a lifetime! Take the trip!!
