Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Art of Animation is the most recent of the Value resorts to be built.  Originally intended to be part of the Pop Century resort, Disney decided on going in a whole different direction and opened Art of Animation in 2012.  In the three sections of the resort closest to the bus stop and the Landscape of Flavors food court, you’ll find all family suites that will accommodate up to six guests.  They’re perfect for larger or extended family groups.  These three areas (Finding Nemo, Cars and The Lion King) are all unique in their decor, both inside and out.  Each has larger than life outdoor icons that will make you feel like you’re right in the movies!

‘Just keep swimming’ at the Big Blue Pool centrally located in the Finding Nemo area.  It’s the largest pool at any of the Walt Disney World Resorts.  Crush, Nemo and Mr. Ray make their home there alongside an array of larger than life sea creatures.  You can even enjoy some Disney music that’s piped in underwater!  The little ones have their own Schoolyard Playground with water features made especially for them.  Squirt’s Righteous Reef Playground is for those that would prefer to stay dry.  Drop Off Pool Bar is located nearby for refreshments.

Take a trip down Route 66 to to the Cozy Cone Motel in the Cars area.  Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, Luigi and Guido are among the life sized icons decorating the scenery here.  The Cozy Cone Pool is convenient to the suites in this section of the resort.  Get there early and claim a shady spot under one of the cone-shaped cabanas by the pool.

On the more wild side you’ll find the Lion King section.  In the courtyard here, you’ll find Simba and all his friends in a lush, forested area.

The spacious family suites are designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 Guests and include:

    • 2 separate bathrooms
    • A master bedroom (queen size bed)
    • 2 separate sleeping areas within the living space, which includes a full size sleeper sofa and a convertible table bed.
    • A kitchenette that includes a microwave, mini fridge and coffeemaker

The Little Mermaid section of the resort is where you’ll find the standard rooms that accommodate up to 4 people (or 5, if one of the children is 2 or under). The Flippin’ Fins Pool is located here.  Sebastian and his friends surround the area, giving you that ‘under the sea’ feeling.  The rooms all have either 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.
